Understanding Market Orders

Execute immediately at the best available price.

A Market Order is an instruction to buy or sell an asset immediately at the best available price.

Key Characteristics

1. Speed: Immediate

Market orders are designed for instant execution. As soon as you submit the order, the platform matches you with a quote from the OLP. Unless the order is rejected due to a slippage limit, your position is opened or closed immediately.

2. Control: Low

While a market order guarantees that your trade will be filled (provided there is liquidity), it does not guarantee the price of execution.

3. Price Mechanism: Quoted Price

Omni uses a quote-based system. When you fill out the Order Entry Form, the OLP provides a real-time quote. A market order accepts this quote instantly.
