Making a Trade on Omni

Open your first position and navigate the trading interface.

Requirements

Before placing a trade, ensure you have completed the following:

  1. Creating an Account: Deploy your on-chain settlement pool.

  2. Depositing to Omni: Fund your account with Arbitrum USDC.

Step 1: Select Your Market

Omni provides access to 500+ markets across crypto, RWAs, equities, pre-IPO tokens and more.

The Market Selector is located in the top left of the trading interface. This defines which asset you are currently viewing and trading.

Click the "/" key on your keyboard to quickly open the market selector and search for the asset you wish to trade.

Step 2: Configure Your Order

On the right-hand side of the UI, you will find the Order Entry Form. This is where you customize your position:

  • Leverage: Click this button to open a slider that adjusts your leverage. Different markets on Omni have different leverage maximums, but no markets allow higher than 50x leverage.

  • Order Type: Choose between Market (immediate execution), Limit (execution when quoted price crosses the limit price), or Pro (which includes Trigger and Take Profit/Stop Loss orders).

  • Directional Toggle: Select Buy to go long (profit if price rises) or Sell to go short (profit if price falls). The current bid/ask quotes for your specific size are displayed on the toggle.

  • Size: Input the amount you wish to trade in USD or the underlying asset. You can also use the slider to select a percentage (0–100%) of your available Initial Margin. Note that the quantity you input is the "after-leverage" (notional) size.

  • Confirm: Once your settings are correct, click this to submit your order to the network.

Advanced Order Configurations

Aside from Market, Limit and Pro (Trigger & TP/SL) orders, you can add additional configurations to your order to customize it further.

  • Reduce Only: If checked, this ensures the order will only decrease or close an existing position. It prevents you from accidentally opening an opposite position when closing a trade.

  • Take Profit / Stop Loss (TP/SL): These are additional orders to automate your exits.

Note: On Omni, TP/SL orders are executed based on Quoted Prices rather than the Mark Price or Index price.

Understanding Trade & Portfolio Information

Before you hit confirm, review the data at the bottom of the Order Entry Form:

Trade Information

Below the Order Entry form, you can track information associated with the specific order you are entering.

  • Liquidation Price: The estimated price at which your position will be liquidated.

  • Order Value: The total dollar-denominated value of the position.

  • Quoted Price: When an order is entered into the order entry form, Omni’s OLP will offer you a quote. This is the real-time price the OLP is offering for your trade.

  • Slippage: This shows the estimated slippage associated with your trade, as well as what your set slippage limit is.

  • Margin Required: The actual USDC collateral needed to open this specific position.

Portfolio Overview

Below the Trade Information, you can track your overall portfolio information:

  • Portfolio Value: The total value of your Omni account.

  • Unrealized PnL: Your current profit or loss on all open positions.

  • Margin Ratio: Your Initial Margin divided by your total account balance.

  • Portfolio Leverage: The total effective leverage across your entire account.

Step 3: Managing Open Positions

Once your trade is live, it will appear in the Open Positions table at the bottom left of the screen.

This table displays your market, quantity, current mark price, total position value, entry price, estimated liquidation price, cumulative funding payments made/received, UPnL, and RPnL.

From here, you can take three quick actions:

  1. Add TP/SL: This button allows you to add Take Profit/Stop Loss orders to a position that does not already have them, or modify existing orders on a position that already has them.

  2. Reverse Position: This button will open a modal that allows you to reverse your position. For example, if you are currently long 2 ETH, clicking this button will allow you to reverse this position to go short 2 ETH.

  3. Close Position: This button will open a modal that allows you to close a percentage (up to 100%) of your position at the current quoted price.
